US health-plan cost sharing comparison
Compare plans for one entered treatment-cost scenario, keeping premiums and excluded care outside the cost-sharing ceiling.
Your inputs
Start with the example values, then replace them with your own. For tables, keep the vertical bar separators and use a dot for decimals.
Illustrative inputs are not certified current rates or an entitlement decision. Confirm the country, year, eligibility and contract. This limited model is not a tax return, payroll service or financial/legal advice. Do not act on it without verifying the applicable rules.
Tool inputs are processed in your browser and are not submitted by this tool. Existing site analytics and advertising services have their own privacy terms.

How it works
For each plan, apply the deductible, then coinsurance to remaining allowed costs; add separate copays and cap covered sharing at the entered maximum. Add twelve premiums and excluded costs. Do not include the same treatment in both deductible costs and copays. Family limits, networks, drug tiers and service-specific rules require separate review.
Worked example
These sample results use the original example inputs in the form. They do not change when you edit your inputs; your own result appears in the workspace.
| Plan | Annual premium | Covered cost sharing | Annual total with uncovered care |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan A | 4200 | 3800 | 8500 |
| Plan B | 6000 | 1650 | 8150 |
Read the result carefully
Results depend on the values and assumptions shown above. Change one input at a time to see its effect. A blank or unavailable result means the data does not support a calculation; it is not zero.
